Poudre River Whitewater Park

Fort Collins, CO

Opening in the summer of 2019, the Poudre River Whitewater Park is located just north of Old Town, Fort Collins. Kayakers, tubers and kids of all ages will be able to enjoy the Poudre River and all it has to offer. This park will bring the river back to a more natural state, help connect the river to downtown, provide safe access to the river, and improve the river floodplain.

The Poudre River Whitewater Park is one of the first steps identified in the  Poudre River Downtown Master Plan . This Master Plan was a collaborative effort between the City of Fort Collin, consultants, state and local agencies, and public stakeholders that consider the Poudre River flowing through Fort Collins as the lifeblood of the city. The Master Plan is intended to design and facilitate a beautiful river corridor that provides recreation and flood mitigation, while also restoring and preserving vital habitat.

Construction Complete:

In October, run-off had come and gone, the upland construction was finishing up, plantings completed and the final touches were being applied. With the leaves turning, the Poudre River Whitewater Park was ready for it's  Grand Opening!
