Special Education Post School Outcomes

Major outcomes of the 2024 Wisconsin Statewide Indicator 14 Survey

The Indicator 14 Post School Survey helps the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction describe the further education and competitive employment experiences of youth with disabilities as they transition from high school to adult life. The survey collects an unduplicated, hierarchical count of the activities in which youth are participating in within one year after leaving high school. The 2024 Indicator 14 survey includes youth with disabilities who exited high school with a diploma, certificate of attendance, reached maximum age or those who dropped out of high school during the 2022-2023 school year.

Below are a series of maps showing the five major outcomes for these youth. The data below are based on an unduplicated count of successfully completed interviews, meaning respondents are counted in only one category, and in the highest category listed in the following order: Higher Education, Competitive Employment, Other Postsecondary Education or Training, Other Employment, and Not Meeting Indicator 14 Participation Criteria.

Each outcome is aggregated by school district (LEA) and by county. Maps are interactive.
