Mondawmin Transit Hub Study

Project Background

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) received a RAISE Grant from the USDOT to reimagine and upgrade the facilities around the Mondawmin Metro Station and Bus Loop, including the pedestrian facilities surrounding the site. This is the first of three rounds of public engagement where you can help steer the direction of the design concept, anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2025.

Site History

The Mondawmin Metro Station was constructed in 1983, as part of the original Metro SubwayLink system in Baltimore. This is one of MDMTA highest ridership stations, providing access to the Mall, Frederick Douglass High School, the surrounding neighborhoods, and connections to the 22, 26, 29, 79, 83, 91, City Link Navy, and CityLink Yellow buses. Over the years incremental changes have influenced how people move within and around the site - it’s time for a fresh vision. Let’s focus on how you travel to the Metro and what it feels like when you are there.
