If you live, work or attend school in Franklin County or if you come here to take part in community events or recreational opportunities, you know a lot about the local transportation system. The SS4A Committee invites you to share your experiences with the transportation system and how well it accommodates different users like bicyclists, pedestrians, public transit and people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

The survey will be available March 12, 2025, and close on April 21, 2025. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses are kept confidential. Thank you for your input into creating a safer transportation system in Franklin County!

What is SS4A?

In 2024, Franklin County received a $250,000 Planning Grant through the United States Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program to develop a safety action plan. The Safety Action Plan will be developed through a county-wide analysis of crash data, movement of vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other road users, and feedback from community members.

In 2023 there were a total of 1,270 crashes with 5 fatalities in Franklin County. The Franklin County Fiscal Court signed Resolution No. 17-2023 to commit to achieving the goal of a dramatic decrease in roadway fatalities and serious injuries and zero roadway fatalities and serious injuries by the year 2050, adopting the Vision Zero Initiative.
