Lake Eber was once a bird paradise and a garden adorned with water flowers on its surface, today it is too polluted to come close to it. The biggest threats to Eber Lake are the wastes of the city of Afyon, the milk industry, the wastes of the Sugar and Alkaloid Factories. Another threat is that after the waste accumulates in Eber Lake, the lake acts as a purification and therefore the filtered clean water flows into Lake Akşehir. The depth of the lake has dropped to 1.70 meters today. It is a fact that it will decrease even more if no action is taken.

AKŞEHİR LAKE

Akşehir Lake, like Eber Lake, is located in the depression area between the Sultan mountains and the Emir Mountain. It is a lake located in Central Anatolia Region next to Akşehir district.

It is administratively located within the borders of Konya and Afyonkarahisar provinces. Since it is located in a closed basin, it has no discharge.

EMRE LAKE

It is the smallest naturally formed lake within the borders of Afyonkarahisar. It is between the Other Town of İhsaniye District and the Bayramaliler Village.

Depending on the rainfall periods, the area narrows and expands. Its depth reaches over 3 millimeters in some places. Its juices are sweet. Emre Lake provides the opportunity to see many beauties of the Phrygian Valley.

You can see many artifacts in the Phrygian Valley on a canoe trip in the lake. The surface area of the pond is approximately 5 km² and its depth is over 3 millimeters in some regions.

KARAMIK SWAMP LAKE

Karamık Marshes are located in the Akarçay Closed Basin, on the northwestern skirts of the Sultan Mountains.

From the west of the area, the main road to Dinar passes by Bolvadin and Çay districts. It is a fresh water lake, most of which is covered with dense communities of reeds and straw grass.

Its average depth is 2 - 3 meters. There is no important stream entering the area. It is fed by numerous spring waters as well as surface waters from the surrounding hills. Due to the breeding populations of the little bittern and Pasbaş patka, the area gains the status of a special protection area. Other birds that breed in this area include Little Grebe, Bahri, Red-necked Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Elmebash patka, Long-Legged and Whiskered Tern. It is estimated that the long tail is also breeding.

Seyitler Dam is a dam built between 1960 and 1964 for irrigation purposes on Seyitler Stream in the province of Afyonkarahisar.

The dam, which is an earth fill type, has a body volume of 650,000 m³ and a height of 27.00 m from the stream bed. The lake volume is 40.00 hm³ at normal water elevation, and the lake area is 4.90 km² at normal water elevation. It provides irrigation services to an area of 2,950 hectares.

Granted national park status in 1981 to preserve and future the historic value of the area, The Historical National Park of Başkomutan includes two museums, a public park, 11 monuments and martyrdom.

The Historical National Park of Başkomutan, which is dazzled by its geological structure and vegetation, which has a large share in the declaration of the region as a national park, is quite rich in woodlands, ponds, valleys and wildlife.

FRİG VALLEY NATURE PARK

In The Feature Of An Open-Air Temple, There Are Rock Monuments Built Before B.C. And Phrygian Settlements İn Asar And Old Döğer. Rock Settlements And Burial Chambers And Churches Belonging To The Roman And Byzantine Periods Are Quite Visible İn The Environment. It Has Conservation Status As An Archaeological, Natural And Archaeological Natural Site.

DANDİNDERE NATURE RESERVE
