Building Resilience in Cowichan

Now that we’ve spent time understanding the hazards and risks facing the Cowichan region, let’s see what people and organizations are doing to increase emergency preparedness and community resilience across the region.

There are many actions we can take at the community level that support our ability to withstand, recover, and thrive following hazards. This includes checking in on neighbours to find out who might need more supports the next time a heat event occurs; working together to provide emergency supplies for no or low cost, or restoring ecosystems to help reduce impacts from flooding and reduce the impacts of drought.
