Hike the Chestnut Hill Trail and look for the restoration areas along the way. Hint: some of them are fenced in to protect them from deer browse!

Suez
SUEZ depends upon the surface water of the White and Red Clay Creeks to provide drinking water for New Castle County residents and businesses. They have been recognized for their innovative Watershed Control Plan that focuses on making investments upstream to reduce pollution from entering the creeks thereby cleaning the water at the source long before it even reaches the treatment plant.

Enviroscape Demonstration
Learn how water moves across land and what it picks up along the way. The Chester County Conservation District assists with best management practices on agricultural lands throughout the watershed. One great example is in New Garden Township where water purveyors including SUEZ and City of Newark supported work to install best management practices on a local farm to keep cow manure out of the White Clay Creek.

Pack a picnic lunch and visit New Garden Airport to watch the small planes and take in the view of the White Clay Creek from one of the highest points.

Hike this one-mile loop along the Middle Branch of White Clay Creek and look for native wildflowers or find a spot along the creek to relax.
