Shared Stewardship Priority Mapping

A team of analysts from the U.S. Forest Service and the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands used three criteria to determine Utah’s Shared Stewardship priority landscapes. Drinking water, strategic protection areas (i.e., values at risk), and fuel hazards were used to identify where the threat of fire presents the greatest risk to Utah's communities and water resources. This statewide assessment will be used by foresters, fire and fuels experts, and other natural resource specialists to design projects that will provide meaningful results on wildfire risk reduction in areas that directly affect people in the state of Utah.

Navigate through the series of maps below to see how each how each watershed was rated in the different prioritization criteria.
