Portneuf River Water Trail
6 access points installed; 3 to go north of Pocatello!

The Portneuf River is open to the public for floating - anytime!
The Portneuf River Vision is working to create river access points from the public land along the river. Scroll down to see what's next!
Portneuf Gap to Pocatello
We are almost done with these five river access points.
Remaining work includes hardening the access point at Edson Fichter, minor tweaks to some of the pathways to limit erosion, and securing permission to install floating docks at Centennial Park to make it easier to get out.
The Concrete Channel
For safety, City of Pocatello code prohibits recreational access to floating/walking in the 1.6 mile concrete channel. We hope to change this when we install Riverfront Parks along the concrete channel.
Pocatello to the Reservation
We've installed 2 access points, just north of the Concrete Channel at King Street and the end of Kraft Road. We hope to install the final three access points (Simplot, Batiste and Douglass Lane) in the next couple of years.
McCammon to the Portneuf Gap
The City of Inkom is working with the Portneuf River Vision to develop river access points near the Concrete Plant and upstream.
This includes access from Crane Creek, the Idaho Fish and Game river access near Robber's Roost.
