BioBlitz with QuickCapture

Use QuickCapture to document plants and animals you see in your designated area for BioBlitz!

About Bioblitz

A BioBlitz is a communal citizen-science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. It can be fun, exciting, and exploratory. BioBlitzes not only help build a species list and atlas, they also highlight the incredible biodiversity of the area.

“BioBlitz: Bio=life, Blitz=really fast!”

QuickCapture for BioBlitz

With QuickCapture, you can collect high quality location data, photos, as well as notes grouped together as a field observation record.

Crowdsourcing with QuickCapture

BioBlitz is a great citizen science activity that brings together community members, enthusiasts, and amateur naturalists for both engagement and data-generation purposes.

With QuickCapture, you can start a BioBlitz anywhere—a walk in woods, a local park or your backyard, with anyone—by sharing your project publicly.

Project Overview

BioBiltz with QuickCapture is a sample project that can be used to document and capture field observations for a BioBlitz event.

Count the number for a few predefined common species, or submit your own observations and notes. Use the Track button to track your location to record where you have been.

Alternatively, press the top button to look up for the names of the species that you are uncertain of.

Map your observations

The result of a BioBlitz is a tally of species found. Submitted records are sent back to ArcGIS where BioBlitz participants sync their observations.
