Summary:
An EF2 Tornado hit Sullivan County, NY on April 22nd, 2023. The path of damage was 10 miles long, but the worst damage was around Callicoon Center, NY.

A low pressure system had moved north of Toronto with the warm front almost stationary.

SPC Day 1 Outlook Valid 4/22
The marginal risk got extended northward into NY which added a 2% tornado risk.
“For the Delmarva area and northward, locally damaging gusts will likely be the primary threat, though backed surface winds and increasing low-level shear/SRH may support a tornado or two as well.”

Rotation moves into Pike County, PA.

Rotation begins to strengthen just south of Greeley, PA.

Rotation starts to weaken over Greeley, PA.

Rotation strengthens again by the Delaware River.
Tornado warning issued at 6:10 pm

Rotation broadens.

Rotation broadens and weakens.

Tornado touches down on Callicoon Center Road.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning with "Tornado possible" tag is issued to replace the Tornado Warning that will expire shortly.
Rotation tightens, but still no reports.

Rotation becomes messy and disorganized with poor vertical continuity.
Tornado warning reissued at 6:49 pm

Rotation weakens again. A possible debris signature appears.
