A Geographical Analysis of Taylor Swift

Explore various aspects of Taylor Swift's popularity, performances, and songwriting through a geographic lens.

Popularity

The map to the right displays interest in Taylor Swift throughout the United States. Darker colors indicate greater interest and lighter colors indicate less interest.

By clicking on a state, you can see the state's numerical interest value.

This value is obtained from  Google Trends  which measures search interest of terms over time. Values are calculated on a scale from 0 to 100, where 100 is the location with the greatest popularity, a value of 50 indicates a location which is half as popular. A value of 0 indicates a location where there was not enough data for this term. These values are calculated using fractions of the total number of searches in the area, so they are normalized.
