Review of Parishes
Shropshire Council is resolved to undertake Community Governance Reviews, focusing on five areas within Shropshire:
Albrighton and Donington parishes
Located in east Shropshire, Albrighton Parish has 15 councillors and Donington Parish has 9 councillors. Albrighton Parish is located to the south of Donington Parish. Currently, Albrighton Parish has 3,421 electors and Donington Parish has 1,073 electors. Albrighton Parish is forecast to have 3,768 electors by April 2028 and Donnington Parish is forecast to have 1,084 electors.
Baschurch and Bomere Heath (Pimhill) Parishes
Located to the north of Shrewsbury, Baschurch Parish has two parish wards. Weston Lullingfields has 3 councillors representing 463 electors and Baschurch has 9 councillors representing 1,862 electors. In total, Baschurch Parish is forecast to have 2,615 electors by April 2028 (508 in Weston Lullingfields parish ward and 2,107 in Baschurch parish ward.
Ludlow and Ludford Parishes
Located in south-west Shropshire, Ludlow Parish has 15 councillors, representing 7 parish wards. It is adjoined by Ludford Parish which wraps around the southern and eastern boundary of Ludlow Parish. Ludford Parish is represented by 7 councillors.
Market Drayton and Adderley Parishes
Located in the north-east of Shropshire, Market Drayton Parish currently has 3 parish wards. Market Drayton East has 3 councillors representing 2,224 electors, Market Drayton North has 6 councillors representing 4,680 electors and Market Drayton South has 3 councillors representing 2,329 electors.
Shrewsbury Parish and adjacent Parishes
Located in central Shropshire, Shrewsbury Parish has 17 councillors, representing 17 parish wards. It is adjoined by 9 parish councils. Currently, there are 58,928 electors living in Shrewsbury Parish, and this is forecast to reach 62,217 by April 2028.
Albrighton and Donington parishes
Located in east Shropshire, Albrighton Parish has 15 councillors and Donington Parish has 9 councillors. Albrighton Parish is located to the south of Donington Parish. Currently, Albrighton Parish has 3,421 electors and Donington Parish has 1,073 electors. Albrighton Parish is forecast to have 3,768 electors by April 2028 and Donnington Parish is forecast to have 1,084 electors.
Baschurch and Bomere Heath (Pimhill) Parishes
Located to the north of Shrewsbury, Baschurch Parish has two parish wards. Weston Lullingfields has 3 councillors representing 463 electors and Baschurch has 9 councillors representing 1,862 electors. In total, Baschurch Parish is forecast to have 2,615 electors by April 2028 (508 in Weston Lullingfields parish ward and 2,107 in Baschurch parish ward.
The civil parish of Pimhill, know as Bomere Heath parish, has 5 parish wards with a total of 13 councillors. There are currently 1,882 electors living in Bomere Heath parish which is forecast to rise to 1,967 electors by April 2028.
Ludlow and Ludford Parishes
Located in south-west Shropshire, Ludlow Parish has 15 councillors, representing 7 parish wards. It is adjoined by Ludford Parish which wraps around the southern and eastern boundary of Ludlow Parish. Ludford Parish is represented by 7 councillors.
Currently there are 7,604 electors living in Ludlow Parish and 744 electors living in Ludford Parish. Overall, Ludlow Parish is forecast to have 8,197 electors by April 2028 and Ludford Parish is forecast to have 1,238 electors.
Market Drayton and Adderley Parishes
Located in the north-east of Shropshire, Market Drayton Parish currently has 3 parish wards. Market Drayton East has 3 councillors representing 2,224 electors, Market Drayton North has 6 councillors representing 4,680 electors and Market Drayton South has 3 councillors representing 2,329 electors.
Adderley Parish is located to the north of Market Drayton Parish. It has 7 councillors representing 352 electors. The number of electors in Adderley Parish is forecast to reach 474 by April 2028.
In total, Market Drayton Parish is forecast to have 9,853 electors by April 2028 (2,322 in Market Drayton East, 5,143 Market Drayton North and Market Drayton South 2,387.)
