Located in the city of Shusha, the Julafar Mosque is listed on the Republic of Azerbaijan's registry of heritage sites (inventory No. 5092) as an architectural monument dating to the 19 th century. 1
Comparison of Hexagon satellite imagery dated July 1980 2 with satellite imagery captured in September 2002 3 shows that the mosque building remained intact during this time period. A subsequent image from February 8, 2004 (not shown) again shows the mosque intact.

But satellite imagery captured on July 18, 2013 shows that by this date, construction of a new building was already well underway and the mosque structure had been destroyed.
