Guidance on Drawing on a Map

Draw a Point

Drawing a point in the map is very simple.

If you are using the form on a smartphone or a tablet you can just click anywhere on the map and that will be the point location you are submitting for the record.

If you are using the form on a desktop/laptop using the left-click mouse button you can specify the location on the map

Alternatively, you can make the map bigger by clicking the full screen button on the small map which will put the map window full screen.

In principle the same workflow as with the small map applies to the full screen map window.

If you are using the form on a smartphone or a tablet you can just click anywhere on the map and that will be the point location you are submitting for the record.

If you are using the form on a desktop/laptop using the left-click mouse button you can specify the location on the map

To draw a line for this form, after you have selected the drawing tool on the right hand side of the map you can proceed as follows:

  • From a Smartphone/Tablet:

You can pinch the map using your fingers and also zoom in/zoom out using your fingers. First click on the map will input the starting point of the line. You can pan/zoom in/zoom out using your fingers and move to the next location where you want to add the second vertex of the line. Once you are satisfied with the place you want to add the point you can click and proceed with as many vertexes as you wish.

  • From a Desktop/Laptop:

You can zoom in/zoom out using the + and - signs on the left hand side of this map. You can also zoom in/zoom out holding your CTRL button and using the scrolling wheel of your mouse. Once you are happy with the starting location you can hit the left-click of the mouse button to place the lines starting location. Once you are ready to go for the second vertex by clicking and holding the left-button of the mouse, you can pan the map. After finding the second point for the line, left-click on the mouse button to add a second vertex.

On the bottom side of the map you can see a back button, which deletes the last inputed vertex for the line, a reset button to clear your drawing as well as a Cancel and Finish button. You can use this button while you are drawing to perform any of the mentioned operations.

If you are havinig difficulties adding a line, the full screen map button will make the map window bigger where you can perform all the operations that were told before. Fortunately, if you hoover for a few seconds over each of the buttons in this map you will see a tooltip which helps you understand what that button does.
