DNR Centennial
Caring for Michigan's outdoor places and stories since 1921!
For the past century, the DNR has worked to conserve Michigan’s unparalleled natural and cultural resources and ensure outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and visitors. From reintroducing elk, moose and turkey to protecting wild places like the Pigeon River Country State Forest to bringing salmon to the Great Lakes, we are proud to celebrate and share our story.
To mark the DNR’s centennial in 2021, we’re excited to celebrate 100 years of taking care of Michigan’s outdoors and stories. Michigan is a place where fish, wildlife and forests thrive and opportunities to connect with nature and heritage are diverse and plentiful. Take a journey around the state to discover a few highlights along the way.
