The Al Oyoun District is located in a mountainous landscape in the Northern region of the governorate of Ajloun, Jordan.

Characterized by a distinct natural landscape of forested evergreen oaks, abundant archaeological and pilgrimage sites of immense cultural value, the wider region of the Ajloun Governorate attracts both Jordanians and international visitors alike.

Ajloun, often portrayed as the most green and beautiful of Jordan’s diverse landscapes, is characterized by an undulating landscape of various peaks (1150 m above the sea) and wadi's of contrasting greenery and semi-arid features. This classically picturesque terrain is no doubt a national treasure, where valleys of streams and natural springs flow throughout the year.

The landscape provides a habitat to a wide range of endemic flora and fauna species and is an incredibly important asset to the people who inhabit and rely on it for their economic and basic needs.
