Albemarle County Scenarios Survey
Albemarle County Transit Expansion Study
Introduction
Albemarle County and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) are considering options to improve transit service for current and prospective riders in Albemarle County. The goal of the Albemarle County Transit Expansion study is to identify short-range opportunities to expand transit service in three key areas of the County:
- The US-29 North corridor, between the Charlottesville city limits and the North Fork UVA Discovery Park / Rivanna Station area
- The Pantops area, east of Charlottesville
- Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello
The maps and descriptions below (also accessible via the links above) present two potential scenarios for service expansion and improvement in each of the three study areas. These scenarios were developed following a comprehensive analysis of the market for transit service in the region, and were informed by feedback provided by riders, non-riders, and other stakeholders in each study area.
Your feedback is important to the success of this study! A brief survey is included after the service scenario descriptions for each study area. Please review the potential service scenarios for any or all of the three study areas, and provide your feedback in the surveys that follow.
