Active Transportation Plan
Municipality of the District of Yarmouth

Let us know what you think about the Rockville Trail!
The Rockville Trail is a 1.6km long gravel pathway along Chebogue Road in the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This trail integrates an array of natural features, providing a serene and aesthetically pleasing environment that attracts both local residents and visitors alike. It offers users a safe space to walk or bike separated from the roadway, as well as views of Kellys Cove and Yarmouth Sound to the West.
Let us know what you think about the existing trail and what improvements you'd like to see.
Project Overview
The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is developing an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) to expand and enhance our current active transportation network. The ATP will help the Municipality to identify and prioritize investments in new active transportation infrastructure and provide informed decision-making around other active transportation initiatives, such as supportive programs and policies.
A critical part of the Active Transportation Plan will be hearing from community members, active transportation and trail user groups, key stakeholders and community partners, and integrating their input and feedback in the ATP. We are excited to create a Plan that reflects your priorities. Throughout the planning process, we hope to hear from all MODY community members!

Get Involved!
The Active Transportation plan is being developed based on input from community members and key stakeholders.
Based on what we heard in the first round of engagement, a draft plan has been developed. The draft plan includes a vision, goals, and recommendations for improving existing facilities and proposing new facilities.
The draft plan will be shared with the public during the second round of community engagement, taking place in Spring 2025.
