Oklahoma State Broadband

State Broadband Office - Oklahoma Department of Commerce

1. Broadband Need Indicators

This map uses several different data sources to show information on broadband availability within Oklahoma State. Layers were created using data sourced from the American Community Survey collected by the U.S. Census, Ookla, Measurement Lab (M-Lab), Microsoft and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In addition, there is a layer in the map that displays the locations of higher education institutions eligible as Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) under NTIA's Connecting Minority Communities grant program. There is also a layer that shows areas designated as American Indian by the U.S. Census in 2020.

2. Communications Data Management

For each Broadband Project to be built later, the Communications Data Management (ESRI solution) can be used to map coax, copper, fiber, and wireless system assets, edit data, view system maps in the field and office, view asset reports, and collaborate with map notes.

3. Broadband Outreach

The Broadband Outreach solution delivers a set of capabilities that help State employees doing inventory broadband investments and resources, understand broadband coverage in our community, and promote actions being taken to address the digital divide.
