Carlton le Moorland From Yesteryear
A tour of Carlton le Moorland's history using old photos and marked site locations

This is an online resource for the wider community to access and learn about the history of the village. What still exists, what is sadly long gone. If you have old photos of Carlton le Moorland that I could add to the map and would like to contribute please get in touch ( Richard Parker, tel 07939 095821). This is still very much a work in progress and I am constantly adding to it.
It should be possible to walk around the village, with a mobile phone and learn about each site. At the moment I am recording: old field name, details of former residents homes from 19th century, details from the 1678 enclosure map, the 1851 tithe map. However there are many other sources that could be added. If you have something of interest let me know.
Hover and click on each red markers on the interactive map below to see a photo or information about the site marked.
Each photo is geotagged and the marker represents the location and view of where it was taken at the time.
