Community Forest Conservation.
Enhancing Forest Protection and Conservation by Community Organizations in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Forests face increasing pressures from land-use change due to the expansion of extensive cattle ranching, slash-and-burn agriculture, and fires that can last for days or weeks. This pressure is strongly influenced by a lack of information and knowledge about the impact of threats to forests and the limited response capacity of the communities to confront and minimize threats.
To address this problem, we set the objective of:
Training and enhancing the participation of seven community organizations and their nine community brigades (each comprising approximately 10 people) in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, enabling them to better respond to direct threats to 128,002 hectares of forest.
