Hometown: Jinhu County

My hometown is a small town, Jinhu County, the literal meaning of Jinhu is "Gold Lake", just as the name tells, the county is located aside the water. Water gives this land a lot of wealth, in which, lotus is the most famous one of them, so it is also called "The Land of Lotus". I grew up there from new born to 19 years old, so I have a lot of memories of my childhood there. Jinhu has a flat terrain, the area is about 1,377.73 sq. meters, and the population is around 360,000 (2020). It is geographically located in the middle east of China, close to Nanjing City and Shanghai City.

There is a lotus base in my hometown, it is also a 4A level national scenic area. The area is around 25 sq. km, lotus blooms in summer, there becomes a sea of lotus, the scenery is very beautiful at that time. So my hometown is also called "The Land of Lotus".

There are eight major cuisines in China, and the cuisine in our hometown belongs to Huaiyang cuisine. Huaiyang cuisine is also selected as the national banquet. Huaiyang Cuisine has high requirement for the chef, especially in cutting food. And the taste of Huaiyang cuisine is partial light, not spicy, instead, it's a bit sweet for some dishes, and very fresh and delicious for the aquatic products.
