Long Term Moorings

There are a number of long-term moorings available for leisure, residential and commercial craft on Scotland’s canals.

Forth & Clyde and Union Canals

Scottish Canals have a large number of moorings across both the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals. These moorings are perfect for those who want to relax, unwind and travel the canals during their free time.

Each mooring location is different ranging from urban locations within Glasgow and Edinburgh to rural locations surrounded by woodland and rolling hills. A leisure mooring can be a base for you to enjoy some of Scotland’s most popular tourist attractions such as the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, or a means to escape the cities and relax in the beautiful countryside along the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals.

Each location has different facilities and each mooring caters to different shapes and sizes of vessels. It is important to make sure that you pick a location that best suits you and your vessel and we recommend that you visit the canal before choosing your preferred mooring site. Prior to taking a mooring, Scottish Canals are always happy to discuss your requirements and ensure that we accommodate you at the most suitable location for you.
