Throughout the years the United States and Cuba has had some positive and negative between each other. In 1959 Fidel Castro overthrew the u.s.Backed regime in Havana. After this incident the cold war happened, this is partially because of what happened between u.s. And Cuba but not the main reason. Since this was in 1959 things have settled down since then, but there is still some negative things between u.s. And Cuba, but not much.

Cuban Missile Crisis

The next event is the Cuban Missile Crisis;The Cuban missile crisis happened in 1962 when there was a standoff between The President of the United States (John F. Kennedy) and The Leader of the Soviet Union (Khrushchev). The standoff lasted 13 days and was over Soviet nuclear missiles on the main lands of Cuba that were planted by the soviets but Cuba allowed them to do so. But there were also american Nuclear Missiles in Turkey that was a short enough distance away from Moscow to hit. The 13 day standoff made everyone terrified because the next day you could be hit by a missile if your president said the wrong thing. Thankfully, After 13 days President Kennedy and Khrushchev came to the conclusion that the Soviets would withdraw their missiles from Cuba if the U.S. would withdraw theirs from Turkey.

Connections Between U.S. and Cuba

Finally we have U.S. and Cuba trade relations.The U.S. and Cuba have been in arguments,taxing and sanctioning each other ever since 1959 when Fidel Castro took control of Cuba and tried to turn it into a socialist country. But the U.S. didn't like that so they tried to destroy Cuba’s economy by taxing them and even cutting their exports to Cuba. So that Fidel Castro would be overthrown and Cuba would no longer be a socialist country. But eventually in 2015 diplomatic relations were restored between the U.S. and Cuba and currently 6.6% of imports in Cuba comes from the U.S. and the U.S. has completely restored their trade relationships with Cuba.

When comparing the U.S. and Cuba of the main differences of the current state of each place. If you went to Cuba right now and then the U.S. You would see that they U.S. Is much more organized government. On the other hand, Cuba would be the exact opposite. This is because Cuba is socialist country and it is not working out at all for them. Even the physical view of the U.S. And Cuba has a big difference between them.

In conclusion The United States and Cuba have had a rough past ever since the Castro’s have influenced Cuba into a communist country in 1959. This put a lot of tension between the two nations resulting in the Cuban missile crisis and american sanctioning Cuba so no normal american citizen and legally travel to Cuba unless they have a special license granted to them by the U.S. treasury department. Currently trump has retied the diplomatic relationship between the countries. Now, 6.6% of Cuba’s imports are american made and Cuba has rejoined the world trade association.
