The GIS department created an online mapping application showing the location of all licensed short-term accommodations (STAs) in the municipality. The map displays the addresses and licence numbers of STAs and is updated daily.

The GIS department created an online map showing the location of all active planning and development applications in the municipality. This application is updated consistently by County planning staff as new applications come in or when a change in status occurs during the review process.

The GIS department created a digital inspection form to allow Operations staff to inspect storm ponds using mobile phones. This allows for a location, information about the pond, and photos to be collected and stored all in one place.

• 676 GIS support tickets were completed in 2021
• Created key maps and zone schedules for 149 planning files
• Completed 99 parcel severance/consolidation updates
• Integrated GIS with the STA program software
• Integrated GIS with the fire reporting software
• Created GIS models to help rate road priorities based on conditions and other factors

The GIS team found a new home this year within the Development Services department where a majority of our work and projects come from. We've always worked very closely with this group so there wasn't much effort required to integrate. We look forward to continuing to succeed as a part of the Development Services team while still providing geospatial support to all departments as well as serving the community.

Some things we are looking forward to in 2022:

• Completing the upgrade of the County's Enterprise GIS
• Developing and releasing new GIS applications
• Continuing to help departments integrate mobile GIS workflows using various solutions
• Integrating GIS with other business systems
• Exploring the ability to move data to a more open format
• Providing mapping support for the election
