Bike Plus Plan

Columbus will be a city where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds will be able to bike safely and comfortably for any transportation or recreation need.

Bike Plus is a plan by the City of Columbus to create a safe, connected and comfortable network for people to bike, scooter, skate and roll in the city. Through transportation improvements like protected bike lanes, trails and crosswalks, this plan will make it more convenient and enjoyable to get around Columbus without a car. The plan, developed from an extensive community engagement process, has identified where these improvements are most needed to connect community members to the places they need and want to go.

The plan comes at a pivotal moment for Columbus: much has changed since the City adopted the 2008 Bicentennial Bikeways Plan. The Bike Plus plan advances the goals of  Vision Zero Columbus   Columbus Climate Action Plan ,  LinkUS  and  Zone In .

Bike Plus was developed through an 18-month process involving extensive data analysis, research and input from the public! It was adopted by Council in December 2024.

Implementing the Bike Plus Plan will be a phased, multi-year process that hinges on collaboration, funding, feasibility and ongoing performance metrics. The ideas presented in the draft plan are planning-level concepts.
