Rats are not only a blight on our neighborhoods, but a matter of public health. Our hard-working Department of Public Works crews work tirelessly to rid Baltimore communities of these unwanted rodents. Over the next 90 days, Mayor Scott has committed to conducting 36,000 rat inspections or treatments to deter rats. Track the closed 311 service requests for rat abatement on the corresponding map.

A tree well is the space around a tree, which must be maintained in order to protect the tree lines within our communities. To ensure the trees in our neighborhoods thrive, Mayor Scott and Baltimore City Recreation & Parks are committed to maintaining 800 tree wells throughout the city over the next 90 days. Speed humps keep our neighborhoods safe by slowing down traffic in residential areas. Mayor Scott and the Department of Transportation committed to installing 90 speed humps. Mayor Scott launched Build Better Bmore in April, challenging city agencies to complete a variety of city services in a span of 90 days. The first sprint realized better roadways, cleaner alleyways, less graffiti and markings on both city-owned and residential properties, and fewer areas and neighborhoods impacted by illegal dumping.
