Need a place to play pickleball? If you go to Mary Park, you'll no longer be in a pickle! Staff installed new pickleball courts for all ages of the public to enjoy.
The Civic Center parking lot was redone in 2022. The new pavement has been appreciated by staff, visitors, and the Senior Center as the new pavement and marking has created a safer surface for years to come.
The WWTP also had their parking lot repaved too!
The bathrooms in Mary Park have been remodeled including an adult changing station. We are gearing up for the extra traffic that'll come from Will's Playground in 2023!
A new arbor, benches and monument were added to Lullaby Lane in 2022. Lullaby Lane is a project organized by Halos of the St. Croix Valley in partnership with the New Richmond Cemetery that will honor and create a designated space for those we love who gain their wings early on in life.
Do you or someone you know need a ride to the library? The second Wednesday of each month transportation is available to utilize our resources or browse for materials. Please reserve your ride at least 24-hours in advance by contacting the New Richmond Senior Center at 715-888-1205.
We partnered with the ADRC of St. Croix County and the New Richmond Senior Center to offer monthly rides for those over 60 years of age and for individuals with a disability who reside in the New Richmond community. The round trip fare is $2.00.
Police Officers and Paramedics enjoyed participating at the New Richmond Walmart's Trunk or Treat event!
The Police Department celebrated the annual National Night Out. NNO is an opportunity for the community to hold block parties and get visits from first responders including police officers, firefighters, and medics.
The neighborhood rescue pups welcomed folks to their party at the Lookout! People of all ages joined Chase, Marshall, Rubble, and Skye for a story, safety lessons, dance time, and character photos. Our local City of New Richmond department vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and dump trucks, were on site too. Pup Patrol is on a roll!

The library invited middle and high school students come to Mary Park to play and explore outdoors in our community. Wilderness Inquiry's Canoemobile is a “floating classroom” that brings students out on local waterways in 24-foot Voyageur canoes. Students paddled together with a guide in these 9-person canoes on Mary Lake and then rotated through activity stations learning about water quality, camping skills, and more!
The Social Justice Collective takes great pride in announcing the unveiling of a community mural project featuring the work of artists Taylor Berman, Breanna Ellevold, Cecelia Ellingboe and Heidi Melo. The artists shared the story behind their contribution to the collective expression and how it depicts New Richmond as a strong, welcoming, and vibrant space.

Young children explored physical science concepts like gravity, speed, and trajectory while playing with ramps, tunnels, funnels, and balls at the library's indoor magnet wall. Children investigated solids and liquids while using their senses of touch, sight, smell, and sound to scoop and dump different materials each week at our sensory table. The library averaged 50 young scientists each week participating. This will continue in 2023!

Turn off your cell phone, slow down, set aside two hours to mindfully and quietly immerse yourself in nature. During this walk, 15 adults learned ways to activate their senses and let nature improve their well-being by experiencing lower cortisol levels, thus, reduced stress and a lower heart rate. Time around trees, plants, the earth, and sky increases your oxygen level, provide phytoncides and increase your sense of awe and wonder. The cumulative benefits of mindfulness time in nature make a long-term benefit to your overall mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Anne Moser from the Wisconsin Water Library at UW-Madison led an event that was deep dive into Lake Michigan to explore the shipwreck "The Silver Lake". Participants transformed into marine archeologists and learn about the fated voyage of the scow schooner that went down in the waters near Sheboygan, WI. Sea shanties and shipwreck art were included!
Oak Avenue also was reconstructed. Utilities were replaced and will serve as a long term investment to the city.
N 4th Street underwent a total reconstruction to make for a smoother, safer ride.
Dakota Meadows has started leasing! They have a total of 38 units which are a combinations of townhomes and apartments.
Eau Claire Realty has been working on another property on the north side of the city. This includes a total of 48 units. The units are either 2 or 3 bedrooms. These will hopefully be leasable in Spring 2023.
Work is wrapping up at Willow Countryside Villas. This development is off of a private drive and has 8 twinhomes which will serve as rentals for the 55+ community.
Eau Claire Realty have been working on 3 new apartment buildings. They offer 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, a gym, an outside pet area, and a pet washing station. Apartments have started leasing.
A new 50 unit, 55+ apartment building is in the works! In the beginning of 2022, the former Beebe Hotel was demolished. The new building which pays homage to the former site with its name. The building will have underground parking, an elevator, and rooms catered to a wiser generation. The plans are to start leasing in 2023.
Presbyterian Homes is adding a 24 unit apartment building for folks who need minimal services. This addition will provide a safer, yet independent living solution for those who want it.
Starbucks, T-Mobile, and Shopko Optical - Oh My! Need a new phone and glasses and want to be caffeinated while shopping? This new building could be of interest to you! They are planning on opening in summer of 2023.
A new medical center is being built on Knowles Avenue adding increased accessibility opportunities to healthcare within the city
Have you ever wondered what that big open field was going to become? The answer: A new neighborhood of homes called Avondale! Avondale means "valley of waters" which is accurate because Paperjack Creek flows right next to it!
