*Creating Art* Mind Map
Inspired by my hike at Christmas Tree Cove

Me on my Hike!
Interactive Map
Above is a visual of my trek from my house in El Segundo to the hike in Palos Verdes. I was not sure of what kind of art to create so I began by making this map on Arcgis because I have used this software before. As I began to draw ontop of the map I found the shape of my hike quite interesting ...
Christmas Tree Cove
To the left is the hike I did at Christmas Tree Cove in Palos Verdes last week. While I was there, I noticed how sandy and dry the soil is, and how pieces of the cliffs are beginning to fall into the ocean. I gathered that the cliffs are behaving in this way due to dryer conditions and rising sea levels, both likely due to climate change.

My Sand Cove Re-Creation
When looking to create an art piece, I looked for things around my house to help me mimic my hike path. I was sitting in my kitchen when I noticed that the veins in my countertop were very similar to my hike route at Chistmas Tree cove. So, I purchased red moon sand, to be symbolic of the red line I drew above the cove, and recreated its path. The sand is also symbolic of the nature of the soil that I encountered on this hike.
I hope you enjoyed my *art creation* mind map!
